Donald

It was first noticed by teachers that Donald was having learning problems in Kindergarten. After exhaustive testing by the school the offered no help other than to suggest that he was a slow learner and was performing up to his ability. He has always been very bright, inquisitive and observant child, and we were not willing to accept this diagnosis. After conducting our own research, and being referred by friends and relatives, we came to Minnesota Vision Therapy. Donald began therapy in the summer before his first grade year. At fall conferences his teacher told us that he was so far behind the other students that it was not likely he would pass, and she even hinted that she wished he had been held back the year before. Donald’s performance began to improve drastically in early winter, and it was obvious to us that something all of a sudden clicked, and he was racing to catch up with his classmates. At spring conferences his teacher reported that she could not believe that he was the same student that began the year and that the most recent testing showed that he was reading at grade level. While I know the science behind what happened, I still view this all as a minor miracle. We are so grateful for vision therapy, as we know that Donald was not just given the full use of his sight, he was given the full potential of his future. – Brad(Donald’s father)
